A great title for the press in Lebanon and one of the pioneers in defending freedoms. He contributed to writing a luminous chapter in the history of journalism, even chapters that spanned more than sixty years. In “An-Nahar”, which he inherited from his father and bequeathed it to his son Gibran, and headed its editorship, he excelled and was elected MP at the age of twenty-five. He also held ministerial, diplomatic and academic positions.
